Plan the electrics around the whole room

A new kitchen, changed room layout or fixed appliance can alter what your electrical system needs to do. We install and adapt household circuits, outlets and fixed equipment with the finished room in mind. Before choosing cable routes, we consider the expected load, circuit protection and how you'll use the space each day. Planning early means sockets can line up with cabinets, switches can sit by the correct doors and fixed equipment can have suitable supplies. It also prevents the electrician from becoming the person everyone remembers after the walls have just been plastered.

Treat the property as one electrical system

Each new fitting connects to a wider installation, so we don't consider it in isolation. We assess the existing supply, consumer unit, earthing and available circuit capacity before deciding what must change. The usual process starts with discussing your plans and assessing the property. We then install the agreed circuits or equipment, inspect the work and carry out electrical testing. This joined-up approach is especially useful during refurbishment, when several rooms or trades need to come together in the right order.

Frequently asked questions

When should we plan electrics during a refurbishment?

As early as possible. Plans for cabinets, appliances, furniture and lighting affect outlet positions and cable routes. Settling them before finishes go on can reduce avoidable changes and damaged decoration.

Can new equipment use an existing household circuit?

Sometimes, but only when that circuit is suitable for the equipment and expected load. We check its condition, protection and capacity before deciding whether an existing circuit can be used or new provision is needed.

What happens after the installation is fitted?

We inspect the connections, test the altered installation and check that the equipment operates as intended. We can also explain controls or isolation points that you'll need to use after handover.
